Ford Fiesta Under Investigation for Faulty Door Latches

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into about 205,000 Ford Fiestas over doors that fail to close properly. 

A preliminary evaluation looking at the 2011 to 2013 Fiesta has been opened after NHTSA received 61 complaints alleging that the door latches didn’t work properly. In many cases, the “door ajar” light would appear while the car was in motion, while 12 of the complaints say that the door actually opened while the car was driving.

NHTSA will now analyze the scope and frequency of the issue and will determine whether a recall is warranted in this case.
