EV Parade Sets World Record with 507 Vehicles

The Nissan Leaf led the way in a record-setting EV parade.

During Plug-in America’s National Drive Electric Week, the world’s largest parade of electric vehicles featured 507 EVs in one place, with most of them being Nissan Leafs. The Japanese automaker was also the exclusive automotive sponsor for the event helping set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of electric vehicles in a parade at any given time.

Plug-in America reported that plug-in vehicle sales reached the quarter-million mark in the U.S. on September 10 and Nissan is sitting at the top of EV sales in the world with its Leaf. The company announced that since it was launched four years ago, the Leaf has sold around 61,000 units in the U.S.

“I love it. I save so much time and money on not having to go and fill up with gas,” said Christiana Bush, EV parade participant and Nissan Leaf owner. “And I just charge at Google, where I work, so it is awesome.”
