Volkswagen Beetle gets New Base ‘Classic’ Trim
Volkswagen is adding a trim level to the Beetle that offers unique style and value.
The Beetle Classic, which is priced from $21,015 including destination is now the cheapest model in the lineup, starting about $1,500 less than the 1.8T automatic, but only about $100 less compared to a base 1.8T with a manual.
Those looking for a convertible version of the Beetle Classic will have to drop $26,815.
So what do you get for that base price? The Beetle Classic comes with 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, leather-wrapped shift knob and handbrake, satellite radio, navigation, leatherette and cloth seats and a six-speed automatic transmission. Supplying power is a small 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.
Three colors are available—Pure White, Black Uni, and Reflex Silver—and VW calls the looks “retro” both inside and out.
