BMW X4 M40i Sheds Camo as it Nears Production

The BMW X4 M40i is getting ready to make its official debut.

AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers have caught the X4 M40i testing on the ‘Ring. It was free of camouflage hinting that production will begin before the end of the year. The X4 M40i isn’t a true M model, but will feature M styling accessories as well as M brakes, wheels and interior parts. It’ll also handle a bit differently compared to the standard X4 thanks to sportier suspension.

Expect the X4 M40i to be powered by the same engine heading to the upcoming BMW M2, which means a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder with around 365 to 375 hp.
