Infiniti Q80 Confirmed for Production, Q20 in the Works

That stunning Infiniti Q80 concept will be heading to production.

The Japanese automaker plans to put the Q80 concept into production within the next three to five years it revealed to Autocar. Even more impressive, Infiniti’s European head Francois Goupil de Bouille said that the company’s intention is “to put as much as possible of it on the road, maybe as much as 90 per cent of the concept.” The company also admitted that the Q80 might not be the brand’s range-topping model in the future, with rumors speculating that Infiniti is planning a larger, more traditional sedan along with a QX80 model to take on Range Rover.

In addition to revealing that the Q80 will make it to production based off of the Inspiration concept, Infiniti global design director, Shiro Nakamura, also said that a Q20 model is being planned as an entry-level offering that would compete against various MINI models and the Audi A1. Don’t expect that to come soon as Infiniti is focusing on launching the Q30 next which is expected to go on sale next year.
