National Corvette Museum to Start Filling Sinkhole

The National Corvette Museum will begin filling the massive sinkhole starting next month.

The sinkhole saga that began earlier this year will start to come to an end, after swallowing numerous Chevrolet Corvette collectibles. According to a report from Car and Driver, the museum will begin filling the sinkhole on November 10 and will conclude by July of 2015. That means if you want to catch sight of the vehicles that won’t be restored, you’ll have until November 9 to do so.

The museum has decided to restore three of the eight vehicles with the American automaker handling the restoration of the Blue Devil prototype along with the millionth Corvette ever produced. The final vehicle, a 1962 Corvette, will be restored at a shop that has not been decided yet, but General Motors will contribute $250,000 to the process.

The remaining vehicles that will be on display until November 9 include the 2009 Chuck Mallett-built Hammer C5 Z06 (1.5-millionth Corvette built), the 1993 40th Anniversary model, a 1984 Indy Pace Car and the C4 ZR-1 Spyder.
