Toyota Hybrid Sales Reach 7M Milestone
Toyota is still firmly in place as the hybrid king and there aren’t any signs of it ceding the throne soon.
The Japanese automaker announced yesterday that it has sold over seven million hybrid vehicles including models sold under the Lexus brand. Including models introduced this year, Toyota now sells 27 different hybrid models and one plug-in hybrid model in over 90 countries and regions. In the U.S. alone, the automaker offers 12 hybrids and one plug-in model, which account for 70 percent of the industry’s hybrid sales.
