Lexus Planning Two World Debuts for Detroit

Lexus is hoping to have two new cars to show off at next year’s Detroit Auto Show.

In an interview with WardsAuto, Lexus Group Vice President Jeff Bracken confirmed that the Japanese automaker will have at least one model debuting at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show but hopes to have two. One likely model making its premiere is the next-generation RX which hasn’t been redesigned since 2009.

Lexus’ sales are doing particularly well this year. The company expects to sell over 300,000 units this year in the U.S., marking the first time it would pass that milestone since 2007.

The automaker is also looking forward to the NX and RC contributing to its overall sales as the year comes to an end with the NX contributing 3,000 units and the RC 1,000 for December. Lexus has also increased the initial sales target of the NX from 25,000 units to 40,000 units and plans on delivering 16,800 RC coupes per year.
