Wide Body VW Beetle Shines At SEMA
You’re looking at the latest crazy creation out of SEMA, a wide-body VW Beetle that’s designed thanks to some help from Tanner Foust and Porsche tuner RAUH-Welt Begriff.
Sitting eight-inches wider than the standard Beetle, this Vee-dub features some serious modifications that only the pros at RWB could provide. Known for their wide-body Porsches, the tuning company has turned their attention to Volkswagen.
“Many Porsche owners like the Beetle. The Beetle is a very good car and it looks like a Porsche a little bit,” said RAUH-Welt Begriff’s Akira Nakai. “It is similar, but a Beetle is not a Porsche, so we made a completely new design for this Beetle.”
The hood features Tanner Foust brand logo, which shouldn’t be too surprising as the rally racer is piloting a Beetle for the global rally cross race series.
Inside the car features accessories plucked from VW’s R-Line including pedals and shift knobs. When it comes to performance, the company says “further performance upgrades are in development for the future.”
