Eleanor Mustang Heads for Texas Auction
One of the original 11 Eleanor Mustangs used to film Gone in 60 Seconds could be yours if you have the cash.
Only three of that total 11 were drivable and of that group, two were destroyed in filming the movie. Now the last remaining roadworthy car is set to be sold at the first-ever Mecum’s collector car auction in Austin, Texas, running from December 12 to 13. The car is a 1967 Mustang dressed to look like a Shelby GT500 with help from Chip Foose and last changed hands in May, 2013.
It sources power from a 5.8-liter Ford crate V8 rated to make 400 hp and mated to a four-speed manual transmission. In addition to the car, the winning bidder will also get a certificate of authenticity from Cinema Vehicle Services verifying that it is one of the cars from the film.
