Mercedes Self-Driving Concept Teased Before CES
Mercedes-Benz released a teaser image a week ahead of its debut at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The show opens next week when several automakers will showcase upcoming in-vehicle technology systems and concepts. Mercedes hasn’t announced a name for its concept yet, but AutoGuide.com’s team of spy photographers spotted it testing under a sheet in October.
More details about the car will probably be released in the remaining days leading up to its official debut on January 5 in Las Vegas when details like powertrain information and the material composition of the body will probably be explained in greater detail.
Earlier this year the California Department of Transportation revised the rules around testing autonomous cars on public roads. It issued 29 permits under the new regulations, of which 25 went to Google. Mercedes-Benz and Audi both won two.
