New Car Sales Expected to Reach 17M Next Year
Don’t be surprised if the U.S. sets a new annual record for car sales next year.
Several experts in the industry including TrueCar and AutoNation predict that auto sales will top the 17-million mark next year with the possibility of even passing the record of 17.4 million set in 2000. Numerous automakers this year have set new record highs with a month to go on the calendar and with the economy continuing to improve as well as gas prices dropping, next year could be generous to all automakers.

Sales are predicted to reach over 55.7-million units worldwide in 2015 with the luxury, pickup and utility segments seeing even bigger gains than it did in 2014. Worldwide sales are estimated to reach 54 million this year. Experts are also predicting that the luxury segment will see a 9.8-percent increase next year rising to about $116.7 billion compared to $106.3 billion in 2014. Utility vehicles will likely see a 5-percent growth to $192.1 billion while pickups will see a 4.5-percent increase to about $95.7 billion.
