The Ford Raptor is back.

Ford just revealed the new Raptor, packing a revised version of the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine mated to an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. The company didn’t announce specific output, but it said the engine will pack more than the 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque that was available in the previous truck. Thanks to the new aluminum alloy body, the truck has lost about 500 lbs compared to the current Raptor.

Designed for tackling the elements, the Raptor has a new terrain select system that has specially designed drive modes for different types of ground ranging such as mud, snow and sand. Like before, a set of Fox shocks will grant the Raptor more than 11.2-inches of travel at the front and 12-inches at the rear. Getting the power to ground will be 17-inch wheels with new BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires.

Also new with the Raptor is a torque-on-demand transfer case which manages power distribution between the front and rear wheels. A torsen front differential has also been fitted to the new truck.

The 2017 Raptor will hit the market in late 2016 and will be built at the Dearborn Truck Plant.
