Detroit Electric Releases New SP:01 Photos

Detroit Electric has released a new set of photos of its SP:01 sports car, showing off the final design.

Despite delays, Detroit Electric still says that it is on track to have its cars in South Korean dealerships by early this year. These new pictures show off the finalized exterior and interior design of the car, which is a reworked Lotus Elise. Fastback styling is the biggest change on the production car compared to the original version of the SP:01.

On the inside, the SP:01 gets leather accents, embroidered floor mats and either leather or alcantara seats. Seats color choices include solid red, beige, tan, or black leather along with two-tone black leather with a red, beige, or tan insert. The center piece of the innards is a massive 8.4-inch touchscreen that controls all of the car’s systems such as entertainment and HVAC.

Power for the car comes from a 285-hp mid-mounted electric motor hooked up to a manual transmission, though an automatic transmission is available as an option. The company claims the car will have a 155 mph top speed and a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds.
