Ferrari FF Test Mule Filmed Testing at Fiorano

Ferrari’s oddball 2+2 all-wheel drive drive hatchback is undergoing testing at the Fiorano Circuit.

A new video released by the Marchettino YouTube channel shows an FF mule driving hard around the track. Presumably, the car in the clip is a prototype version of the mid-cycle updated FF. During its investor meeting last year, FCA said Ferrari’s business plan provisioned for an eight-year life cycle including an update at about the four-year mark.

The California T – Ferrari’s first turbocharged car since the F40 – is the first of the company’s vehicles to undergo a major update as a part of that plan, followed by the 458. There are a pair of exhaust pipes poking unusually far out of the mule’s rear with a much louder exhaust note according to Marchettino.

Ferrari is likely to be planning a more powerful version of its 6.3-liter V12 for the project that will develop as much as 700 hp according to previous reports. The current car makes 651 hp.
