President Obama Warns Cheap Gas Won’t Last

Americans are enjoying cheap gas prices nationwide, but President Barack Obama warns that it won’t last.

In an interview with The Detroit News, President Obama continued to support small, fuel-efficient vehicles and cautioned families to consider what they do with the money they save at the pump. Since June 2014, oil prices have fallen 40 percent and as a result gasoline prices have dropped to around or below $2 a gallon around the country. But Obama wants to make sure that Americans don’t believe that “demand for oil by China and India and all these emerging countries is going to stay flat.”

The interview comes as Obama prepares to visit the Ford Michigan Assembly plant in Wayne. During his visit, the president will speak about his administration’s bailout of the U.S. automotive industry and the resurgence of the market, especially considering several automakers broke records this year in sales.
