QNX Reveals Maserati Technology Concept Car

The Maserati Quattroporte you are looking at is loaded with high-performance gear and none of it has to do with the powertrain.

QNX is using this Quattroporte GTS to promote an integrated driving experience, including safety technology and advanced driver assistance systems. QNX’s Quattroporte Technology Concept Car features a number sensor technologies including cameras, ultrasonic radars and Lidar to detect obstacles on the road, anticipate dangerous driving situations, and present warnings to avoid collisions, keeping drivers and passengers safe. This dedication to driver assistance and safety, not to mention its future application as a platform for autonomous driving, is what QNX is really showcasing.

Beyond that, the Maserati sports an infotainment display that’s been updated from when we last saw it in the CLA 45 AMG QNX Concept car. It still features responsive gestures and a high-resolution screen, though now there is a clean looking digital dashboard that integrates information from the infotainment screen. The digital cluster also shows off all the advanced driver assistance systems and related warnings. Everything runs off of a Qualcomm 602A processor.

QNX also brought along an updated Jeep Wrangler Technology Concept Car, which features a 12-foot screen in front of it, which provides a virtual driving experience. The Wrangler is designed to showcase QNX’s safety features and demos QNX’s driver assistance systems including forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. QNX is quite proud of the fact that its system meets the highest level of automotive functional safety certification, something that should make it very appealing to OEMs.
