2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Recalled for Steering Issue

Toyota is recalling the FJ Cruiser because of a possible flaw with the steering in some models.

The Japanese automaker is recalling its 2014 FJ Cruiser SUV for a possible steering issue that affects approximately 120 units. According to Toyota, the steering system’s intermediate shaft may have received an inadequate weld. Under some circumstances, the weld could separate causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.

The company is not aware of any injuries, crashes or fatalities related to the issue and will begin notifying affected owners by first class mail. Toyota will replace the intermediate shaft, which connects the steering wheel to the steering gear box, in all affected vehicles.
