2015 VW Golf SportWagen Priced from $22,215

The 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen will be cheaper than the outgoing Jetta SportWagen.

The German automaker has announced that the 2015 Golf SportWagen will start from $22,215 including destination for the S model, which is $700 cheaper than the previous base-model Jetta SportWagen. Equipped with a manual transmission as standard, the 1.8T S model comes with a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 170 hp.

The Golf SportWagen TSI SE will only be available with a six-speed automatic transmission and will start from $27,815 adding 17-inch wheels, front fog lights, panoramic sunroof, keyless access with push-button start, rear-view camera and Fender Premium Audio System.

Diesel shoppers can opt for the TDI Clean Diesel model that comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 150 hp and can be fitted with a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. While the standard 1.8T model is rated up to 36 MPG on the highway, the TDI is good for a 43-MPG highway rating. The Golf SportWagen TDI S will start from $25,415.

The range-topping SEL model is available for either the 1.8-liter gasoline engine or the 2.0-liter diesel and adds 18-inch wheels, chrome roof rails, a navigation system, Climatronic automatic air conditioning, sport comfort seats with 12-way power driver’s seat and ambient lighting with LED interior reading lights. The Golf SportWagen TSI SEL will be priced from $30,165 while the TDI SEL has a starting price of $28,815.

Adding an automatic transmission to any of the Golf SportWagen models will be $1,100 additional.

The 2015 Golf SportWagen will begin arriving dealerships in the U.S. starting April.
