2016 Honda Pilot Video, First Look
Honda is trying to dissociate itself from the terms boring and mundane.
At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, the Japanese automaker debuted its latest Pilot model with sleek styling that departs from the previous generation’s boxy look. The third-generation Pilot offers more cargo space, greater performance and improved fuel economy than its predecessor while being three inches longer and is up to 300 lbs lighter.

Under the hood, a 3.5-liter V6 with direct fuel injection gives the SUV 250 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque while Variable Cylinder Management shuts half of the cylinders down when full power isn’t needed. Two transmissions will be offered with the 2016 Pilot with a six speed replacing the current five-speed transmission. Higher trim models will come with an all-new nine-speed gearbox from ZF.
