GM Applies to Trademark ‘Badlands’
1
General Motors is hinting at a new truck model with a recent trademark application.
The American automaker filed an application to trademark the title “Badlands” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on February 16, 2015. According to the trademark application, the term will be used for “Motor land vehicles, namely, trucks.”

As for what Badlands will be used for, it does sound like a nameplate for an off-road truck, one that could finally be GM’s answer to the Ford F-150 Raptor. But if other trademark applications prove anything, don’t read into it too much because it could lead to nothing at all.
