Mercedes-AMG GT Fires at Porsche 911 in New Ad

Mercedes is awfully proud of its all-new AMG GT sports car.

The German automaker has released a new video, titled “Dreamcar” in which it boasts how the GT has overtaken the car you dreamed of as a child. The commercial shows the new Mercedes-AMG GT passes what looks like a Porsche 911. Mercedes is targeting the German sports car directly by pricing its new performance machine within the same territory as Porsche’s vaunted nameplate.

The new Mercedes-AMG GTS sports 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque while the standard GT model has 456 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Both models are backed by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
