Mercedes Recalls 147K Cars Over Fire Risk
Mercedes is calling back about 147,000 vehicles due to a fire risk.
The issues affects 2013-2015 CLS-Class sedans along with E-Class sedans and wagons. In these vehicles, a rubber seal in the engine compartment can stick to the hood when it is opened and fall into the engine bay once the hood is closed. In that event, the seal may contact parts of the exhaust system, increasing the risk of a fire.
To remedy the issue, Mercedes dealers will attach four additional retaining clips to the rubber seal, free of charge.
