Volvo S60, V60 Polestar Availability Expanding

Volvo is giving its S60 and V60 Polestar models another production run.

Last year, the S60 and V60 Polestar models were introduced to eight countries and for the 2016 model year, the Swedish automaker will expand its availability to 13 countries worldwide. New markets for the Polestar models include Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, the renewed production run will be for 750 units, the same number as last year.

In 2014, 120 units of the Polestar models came to the U.S. – 80 wagons and 40 sedans – though it’s unknown how many will be spread across the markets for the 2016 model year. The two cars will once again be offered in Australia, Canada, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K. and the U.S.

“The Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar are selling faster than we expected, and we have, as a result decided to expand into new markets. Polestar remains an integral performance brand partner and this is a clear sign of confidence in the potential of this partnership,” said Anders H. Gustavsson, Vice President Special Products at Volvo Car Group.
