Details Emerge on the 2017 Porsche Panamera

Some details have been revealed regarding the next generation of the Porsche Panamera.

The car is set to arrive in the second half of 2016 according to Porsche CEO Matthias Müller, though only for the European market. The new Panamera won’t sport a radical radical design change according to Müller, although he says the car will be “a better package, and some details will be more modern of course.”

A loss of about 198 lbs is slated for the new Panamera while the car’s powerplants are expected to be heavily revised. Engine choices won’t change though, with the German sedan still expected to offer turbocharged V6 and V8 engines, a plug-in hybrid setup and a diesel option.

Three body styles are rumored to be in the works for the new car as well, a five-door coupe, a long wheelbase version and a shooting brake model that was previewed by the Sport Turismo Concept shown at the 2012 Paris Motor Show (seen above).

Inside, the center console is supposed to use less buttons to try and minimize the clutter.

The car will likely arrive in the United States sometime in late 2016 or early 2017.
