Koenigsegg Regera Video, First Look

Koenigsegg unveiled a positively freakish car in Geneva this week that makes everything else seem slow.

Introducing the hybrid-powered Regera at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg arguably stole the show with a machine that makes over 1,500 hp with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired to an electric motor. In addition, each rear wheel is powered by individual electric motors that make 192 lb-ft of torque each. The rear motors also allows the Regera to handle as it should thanks to electronic torque vectoring.

In true Koenigsegg fashion, the company didn’t even bother saying what its megacar does 0-60. Instead, the Swedish automaker claims the hybrid exotic is able to hit the 249-mph mark in under 20 seconds. Priced from $1.89 million, the company plans on producing 80 Regeras and those owners will likely have a giant, silly grin on their faces once they get behind the wheel.
