MINI Cooper Starring in Upcoming Pixels Movie
The MINI Cooper will be heading back to the big screen, taking on an unlikely role.
The last time the British automaker’s compact hatch starred in a major movie was The Italian Job in 2003, but we’ll see four colorful entries in this summer’s Pixels (July 24) where the Cooper represents the famous Pac-Man Ghosts from the iconic video game. Pixels, which stars Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage and Michelle Monaghan, will be an action movie featuring classic video game characters that have come to invade our planet.

Yes, we’ll see a real-life Pac-Man chomping up fire trucks and buildings as well as Donkey Kong flinging barrels and other throwbacks to classic Arcade games. As for the MINI Cooper S hatchbacks, they’ll be painted the same shade as the Ghosts found in Pac-Man: pink, orange, red and light blue. Even the names of the ghosts can be seen on the license plates, representing Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde.
