Porsche Cayman GT4 RS a Possibility
The Porsche Cayman GT4 may have just made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, but there’s already speculation on a more hardcore model.
Speaking to Evo in Switzerland, Porsche Motorsport head Andreas Preuninger hinted at the possibility of a faster, lighter RS version of the Cayman GT4, continuing in the tradition of other hardcore 911 models. The Cayman GT4 is the first Cayman model to join the GT family and is the most powerful Cayman to date. In fact, Preuninger said that the company “underestimated the success of the Cayman GT4,” sharing that two years’ supply of the car was sold in England within three days.

“This is just the beginning of the era,” said Preuninger. “I would be interested in doing a Cayman GT4 RS version, but at the moment we didn’t even talk about such a thing. If the customers call for something like this we could think about it.” If the Cayman GT4 is a sign that Porsche Motorsport is listening to its consumers, it’s just a matter of time before the Cayman GT4 RS is spied testing on the ‘Ring.
