Toyota Issues Two Recalls Covering 112K Vehicles
Toyota has announced two new recall campaigns.
The first covers about 2,500 Toyota Rav4 EVs. Components in the EV traction motor assembly may cause the vehicle to shift into neutral unexpectedly because of a software issue. A “check EV system” warning light will also light up on the dash.
Dealers will repair the issue at no charge by fixing the EV traction motor.

The second recall, which affects the Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid and RAV 4, is for a loss of power steering assist due to a circuit board that may have been damaged during manufacturing. This issue affects about 110,000 vehicles.
Toyota dealers will inspect the steering column assembly and replace the power steering control unit if necessary.
The brand is not aware of any injuries or fatalities caused by either condition.
