Aston Martin DB11 Might Get Turbo Power

1

The Aston Martin DB11 might be turning to turbocharging.

AutoGuide.com’s spy photographers have caught the upcoming DB11 testing numerous times already and it appears that one of the prototypes featured a toggle switch marked “intercooler.” As you may know, an intercooler is often associated with turbocharged engines, helping cool the air-to-fuel mixture. Naturally, switches wouldn’t make their way to production models, but it’s proof that the British automaker is at the very least, considering a turbocharged engine for its next sports car.

According to Auto Express, that same prototype is using the company’s 6.0-liter V12, so it’s a possibility that Aston Martin isn’t going the traditional route of downsizing plus forced induction.
