Furious 8 Coming in April 2017

Furious 7 is rolling in money fast, so it’s no surprise that Furious 8 already has a release date.

Actor Vin Diesel announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that Furious 8 will arrive in movie theaters April 14, 2017. “I swear to you and I swear to my brother upstairs, we’re going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen,” said Diesel. Of course Diesel is referring to the late Paul Walker, who passed away in a car accident in 2013 in the midst of filming Furious 7.

The latest movie in the storied franchise was released April 3 and went on to become Universal’s first film to gross $1 billion at the worldwide box office in just 17 days. Details on the next movie are light, especially since it doesn’t even have a director yet, but Diesel did say during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live that it’ll take place in New York City.
