Honda Crosstour Axed

Honda has announced that the Crosstour is being axed.

The slow-selling Accord variant won’t see a 2016 model, which will allow Honda’s East Liberty, Ohio, plant to focus on building the CR-V and Acura RDX models. Honda also will be moving production of the Accord Hybrid from its Marysville, Ohio, plant to the Sayama factory in Japan.

Honda Crosstour sales have been disappointing for the brand since its launch in 2010 and only 742 units were sold last month. Honda also expects that its new HR-V crossover will serve the needs of the customers that were eyeing the Crosstour to begin with.
