2016 BMW M4 GTS Appears in Dealer Ordering System

2

It appears the not-yet revealed BMW M4 GTS is heading to the U.S.

A user on Bimmerpost has revealed that the 2016 BMW M4 GTS has appeared in the U.S. dealership ordering system, hinting that the model will head to production.

Nothing in regards to the BMW M4 GTS has been confirmed, but rumors suggest that the M4 GTS will boast a water injection system that the German automaker previewed on its MotoGP safety car. Also, if the new M4 GTS follows in the same footsteps as previous GTS models, expect it to get rid of many of its luxury amenities to relieve weight while more aggressive suspension and stickier tires will be added.

The water injection system will help cool the M4 GTS engine and is especially beneficial under harsher track conditions. Other automakers have used similar systems for their high-performance vehicles, including the Subaru WRX STI. On the MotoGP safety car is a 1.3-gallon water tank that injects the liquid through the three injectors in the intake plenum.

The BMW M4 GTS is expected to make its debut in concept form at this year’s Pebble Beach festival in August, but assuming that it is heading to production by March 2016, the real deal should bow before the end of the year at an auto show.
