2016 Dodge Viper ACR Detailed In Video

This new video from Dodge shows exactly how the upcoming Viper ACR is going to take on the Corvette Z06, Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 GT3.

Announced just a week ago, the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR (American Club Racing) version will feature no power upgrades, meaning that the 8.4-liter V10 engine under the hood is still making 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. But there are other updates underneath this snakes skin: the car features new adjustable shocks that are stiffer than the Viper TA, while the ride height is adjustable between three settings and while the camber and toe can also be adjusted.

Found at the four corners of the Viper ACR are new Kumho Ecsta V720 tires that are designed specifically for the Viper. The drive modes in the car had to be retuned to accommodate the grip of the high-performance rubber. Those tires are backed up by massive Brembo carbon ceramic brakes which use massive 15.4-inch two-piece front rotors with six-piston calipers and 14.2-inch two-piece rear rotors with four-piston calipers.

But no discussion of the new Viper ACR is complete without talking about that massive rear-wing. At 73 inches wide, this adjustable spoiler, which is a part of the Extreme Aero package, helps to give this snake the most downforce on any production car. See the video below for more details.
