Bentley Bentayga Exposed in New Spy Photos

Bentley is putting its upcoming SUV through rigorous testing.

AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers have caught the Bentley Bentayga wearing very light camouflage as it was heading into the Volkswagen Group’s test facility close to the Nürburgring. Although much of the SUV’s body has been exposed, the British automaker is still hiding the production headlights and tail lights with vinyl printouts stuck onto the front and rear of the vehicle.

Earlier this month, Bentley released a teaser video teasing the Bentayga’s interior, showing off a digital gauge cluster with night vision capability, a touch-sensitive knob in the center console for changing drive modes and a head-up display.

Bentley’s first SUV will share its platform with the new Audi Q7, Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne and will be powered by the brand’s W12 engine to give it a top speed of about 200 mph. The automaker will also add plug-in hybrid and diesel variants to the model that will join the lineup sometime in 2017.

Hoping to achieve its sales goal of 20,000 units per year by 2020, Bentley believes its Bentayga will play an important role in achieving that goal. Last year, Bentley sold 11,020 vehicles, marking a nine-percent increase over 2013.
