Bugatti Chiron to Hit 60 MPH in 2 Seconds: Report

Bugatti is aiming to put the most expensive hypercars on the market to shame with the successor to the Veyron.

Said to be called the Chiron, the new Bugatti will pack a familiar 16-cylinder engine that will have some staggering numbers attached to it. According to Car, the Chiron will make 1500 hp and 1106 lb-ft of torque, capable of propelling this car from 0 to 62 MPH in just two seconds. Top speed is pegged at 288 mph.

New electric turbochargers are expected to be used to eliminate turbo lag in the big engine, while overall the Chiron should be more liveable day-to-day compared to the Veyron. On the inside, the Chiron is expected to correct many of Veyron’s issues, like the offset driving position, bad visibility, lack of space and strange ergonomics.

Although the Chiron was supposed to arrive in 2015, the car’s launch has already been pushed back to 2016. It is now expected to debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
