2016 VW Jetta GLI Revealed with More Aggressive Style, 210 HP
Volkswagen just revealed its updated 2016 Jetta GLI, the sedan counterpart to their Golf GTI hatchback. This sporty four-door has been refined, gaining new looks and advanced features.
For starters this car is dressed up with a new, more aggressive front fascia, which includes a honeycomb grille. At the opposite end of the vehicle, its rear bumper has been redesigned and incorporates a diffuser. The dual exhaust tips are slathered in chrome.

All 2016 VW Jetta GLIs ride on 18-inch Mallory aluminum wheels. They’re wrapped in standard all-season tires, though true enthusiasts can get optional summer tread for maximum fair-weather traction. The car also features a special, sport-tuned chassis.
Under the hood GLIs feature a frighteningly familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It provides a stable of 210 Germanic horses, though that figure is likely underrated … by A LOT. Today’s GLI features either a six-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch automatic with just as many gears; the 2016 model should stand pat in this area.
Inside the driver and passengers are treated to features like a new infotainment system, push-button start, dual-zone climate control and a premium Fender audio system. Higher trim versions of the Volkswagen GLI can even be outfitted with safety features like blind-spot detection and rear-traffic alert.
