Dodge Grand Caravan Production Extended to 2017
It appears that the Dodge Grand Caravan will live on for a couple more years.
It was believed that the American automaker planned to end production of the Dodge Grand Caravan in 2016, but an internal document now shows that Dodge intends to produce the Grand Caravan into the 2017 model year
The van will be built alongside the redesigned Chrysler Town & Country starting early next year. According to the document, the next-generation Town & Country will head into production on February 29, 2016 at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Windsor, Ontario plant that was recently overhauled.

As for the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, it’ll commence production in August 2015 with production ending August 2016. The 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan is referenced with the same model code as the 2015, hinting it’ll remain mostly unchanged, with production starting on August 23, 2016.
Previously, Dodge revealed that the Grand Caravan’s production will stop in 2016 as part of the company’s five-year product plan. There’s still a chance that Dodge only plans a short production run for the 2017 Grand Caravan that will enable the automaker to fill minivan requests for fleet customers, as well as continuing sales in Canada, where the model is still the top seller within the segment.
