The Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster is heading to production.

The Italian automaker’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, confirmed production on a convertible variant of the Lamborghini Aventador SV at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. “The Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now,” Winkelmann said. “We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for.”

The Lamborghini Aventador SV debuted earlier this year at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show with a zero to 62 mph time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of over 217 mph. Compared to the standard production Aventador, the Aventador SV not only has 50 more horsepower at 750 hp, but also weighs 110 lbs less. Priced at nearly $500,000 including gas-guzzler tax and destination fee, expect the Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster to ring in as more expensive than the coupe. Production of the convertible variant will be limited to 500 units.
