Infiniti Getting Next-Gen Nissan GT-R in Sedan Form
The next-generation Nissan GT-R is rumored to get a four-door variant.
The idea of a Nissan GT-R sedan isn’t exactly a wild one, considering the Infiniti brand has essentially created such a model with its Q50 Eau Rouge concept (seen above).
In fact, leading up to the R35 GT-R model, Nissan had produced Skyline GT-R sedans for decades and it appears that the Japanese automaker will come back to that for the next-generation model. This time around however, the GT-R sedan will be badged as an Infiniti model aimed to take on the likes of the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz AMG models.

There is yet to be definitive information released on the next-generation Nissan GT-R, but the most recent rumors suggest that the model will be powered by a version of the 3.0-liter V6 hybrid powertrain that is being used in the GT-R LM NISMO race car. Naturally the production R36 GT-R won’t be front-wheel drive like the race car.
Recently, Nissan announced that it’ll delay bringing the GT-R LM NISMO back to competition as it works out issues with the race car’s energy recovery system (ERS). The front-wheel drive racer didn’t impress during its outing at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
