Turn up Your Speakers! Ford GT Race Car Caught Testing at Sebring
Another 2017 Ford GT race car has been spotted testing in Florida at Sebring International Raceway.
The Ford GT race car is getting ready for the 2016 FIA WEC and TUDOR SportCar Championship seasons and is being built by the Ford’s Canadian partner Multimatic Motorsports. What we do know about the race car is that it will be powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that will make over 600 hp and the American automaker plans on making a return to Le Mans next year as part of its race campaign. The engine being used actually debuted in 2014 on the EcoBoost Riley race car and helped take home victories at the 2014 12 Hours of Sebring and 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Expect to see the Ford GT competing in the LM GTE Pro class at next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours race with Chip Ganassi Racing and Felix Sabates operating the two four-car teams. The teams will likely make their race debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona next January with drivers being announced closer to the start of the season.
