Chevrolet Reveals Android Auto Launch Plans
Chevrolet has announced details on its Android Auto rollout plan.
Earlier this year, the American automaker confirmed that it would offer Android Auto on 14 different vehicles for the 2016 model year, but availability information was not given at the time.
The official list now includes the seven-inch MyLink infotainment system on the Spark, the seven- or eight-inch systems on the Cruze, Malibu, Camaro and Silverado and the eight-inch systems found in the Impala, Volt, Corvette, Colorado, Tahoe and Suburban.

Those with compatible vehicles will see a “Projection” icon on their MyLink screen when a compatible Android Lollipop 5.0+ phone is connected via USB, enabling them to access the Android Auto interface. The bad news is early adopters of 2016 models will have to wait until March 2016 in order to access Android Auto on their vehicles and that’s only after it gets a software update from a Chevrolet dealership.
Chevrolet has not yet revealed timing for its plan to incorporate Apple CarPlay to its vehicles.
