2016 Lotus Evora 400 Detailed In Video

The Lotus Evora 400 has received several upgrades this year including more power and less weight, as detailed in this video by the British automaker.

Lotus says this Evora 400 is the most powerful production Lotus ever made and is significantly faster than its predecessor. In fact, the new car is seven seconds faster around Lotus’ test track than the old model.

It gets 55 more hp out of its supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine for a total output of 400-hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. The mid-ship sports car is also 45 kilograms or 99 lbs lighter, allowing it to hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph.

Over two-thirds of the car is new including the lightweight aluminum chassis. While this performance focused vehicle weighs just 3,075 lbs Lotus also spent some time improving the ergonomics of the vehicle, including easier entry and exit.
