Lincoln’s New Hope Just got Towed Home

4

It looks like one of Lincoln’s Continental prototypes had some issues while testing.

Lincoln is pinning many of its hopes on the rebirth of the storied Continental nameplate, with the production car set to arrive at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show as a 2017 model.

Besides showing us a bad day for a Lincoln engineer, this set of spy photos also reveals the Continental’s panoramic glass roof thanks to the tilt of the car behind the tow truck.

Though we were told that the car would be front-wheel drive, these photos all but confirm that it is thanks to the way it is being towed with its front wheels off the ground.

Powering the new Continental will be a 3.0-liter Twin-turbo V6 that makes 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque in Lincoln’s MKZ sedan.

More details will be revealed when the Continental is unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show.
