Two rock-solid offerings in this market include the Ford Fusion and Subaru Legacy. The former offers all-wheel drive as an option, the latter comes standard with this traction-enhancing feature.
The Fusion is arguably one of the most stylish sedans available today. As for performance, its top engine is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that puts out a stout 240 horsepower. It’s matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Subaru Legacy is a fine midsize sedan from Japan. Its most muscular engine is a 3.6-liter boxer six that cranks out 256 ponies. The only gearbox available is continuously variable automatic.
