Mercedes-AMG C63 Convertible Spied Testing on the Nurburgring
The Mercedes-AMG C63 convertible will make its debut this week at the 2016 New York Auto Show.
The German automaker has been spied doing some last-minute testing at the Nurburgring with the Mercedes-AMG C63 convertible, which is expected to hit the market in standard and “S” models. Like the coupe, the C63 convertible will be powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine with 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque as standard, while the more powerful C63 S convertible will pack 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.
The standard Mercedes-Benz C-Class convertible made its debut a few weeks ago at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in the form of a C300 with rear-wheel drive or 4Matic, along with the Mercedes-AMG C43.

Expect the convertible variant to weigh a tad more than the coupe. It will also come standard with the German automaker’s AirScarf, a neck-level heating system that allows occupants to enjoy open-top driving even in the brisk cold. The top takes 20 seconds to open or close and can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe was unveiled last year before heading to the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show as the sportiest C-Class ever.
