Cadillac CT8 Flagship Reportedly Cancelled
Cadillac has reportedly cancelled plans for a CT8 flagship sedan.
According to Autoline, the American luxury automaker has totally scrapped plans for the large luxury sedan, favoring the development of new crossovers and SUVs. The new CT8 was to sit above the CT6 (seen above) in the lineup and do battle with the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series.
Though nothing is official, it seems like Cadillac plans to focus its resources on its new sub-XT5 crossover while a larger crossover to fight the BMW X7 is also in the cards.

Cadillac is also rumored to be working on a CT9 sedan and XT9 crossover that are meant to fight against some of the best luxury cars in the world including those from Bentley and Rolls-Royce. If the CT8 cancellation proves to be true, the fate of the CT9 is also likely sealed. But an ultra-luxury SUV to fight the Bentley Bentayga might still become a reality.
This just in. Cadillac CT8 program cancelled. Was to be flagship sedan for the brand. No doubt market shift to CUVs & SUVs played a role.
