Smart Brabus Gets 109 HP, Sportier Styling
The new Smart Brabus has been introduced at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show.
Sporting 109 horsepower from its turbocharged three-cylinder engine with just 0.9 liters of displacement, the Smart Brabus promises to be one of the sportiest vehicles in its segment, even if that isn’t saying much. The seasoned tuner has outfitted the Smart fortwo, fortwo cabrio and forfour with a plethora of upgrades including performance sports suspension with specially adapted ESP, sports power steering and a sporty configuration of its twinamic dual-clutch transmission with Race Start.
It’s a modest power increase of about 7 hp compared to the previous model, while torque now comes in at 125 pound-feet. As a result, the subcompact Smart Brabus fortwo is capable of hitting 62 mph from a standstill in 9.5 seconds.

According to Smart, the Brabus Performance sports suspension is 20 percent firmer than the standard Brabus sports suspension while the sway bar up front reduces roll tendency by 9 percent. The exhaust system has also been optimized in terms of back pressure.
On the exterior, it stands out thanks to a matte grey rear diffuser insert, chrome-look exhaust tips and grey Brabus Monoblock IX wheels. In addition, the company is offering a new premium equipment line called Brabus Xclusive that adds interior upgrades such as Brabus sport seats with upholstery in perforated Nappa leather, Brabus instrument panel with a material of man-made leather and fabric, Brabus dashboard instrument with cockpit clock and rev counter, Brabus floor mats and Xclusive badges on the mirror triangle and B-pillar. The package also comes standard with the LED and Sensor package and heated seats up front. The Smart forfour readyspace features rear seats with a removable cargo box.
