A Subaru STi Wagon is Real and Of Course We Can’t Have It
Subaru has confirmed that it will offer a Levorg STi model, but it probably won’t head to the U.S.
Launching in Japan this summer, the Levorg STi aims to offer the same sportiness of the WRX STi but will have a more premium feel. Such a model has been rumored since last year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, where Subaru unveiled the Levorg S concept that featured plenty of STi goodies throughout. In concept form, it had more aggressive front and rear bumpers, a carbon fiber roof and 19-inch BBS wheels paired to Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The Levorg is built on the same platform as the current Impreza and is Subaru’s wagon variant of the popular car. Although exact specifications for the Levorg STi have not been announced, it is expected to be powered by the same 2.5-liter turbocharged Boxer engine as the existing WRX STi that has 305 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque.
An official announcement should be made in the coming weeks and we will soon get to see just how premium STi will become and whether future WRX models in the U.S. will follow suit.
