Vilner Studio Celebrates 20 Years with a Special Shelby GT500
For its 20th birthday bash, Vilner Studio will release a special “Vilner Studio 20 Years Anniversary” series of cars, beginning with this 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake.
The Shelby’s brutal beating heart remains – a 5.8-liter V8 gorging on gulps of pressurized air force fed from a Kenne Bell supercharger – generating 850 hp and 626 ft-lb of twist.
The white over red Super Snake came to the Vilner crew from Romania, and it’s an early build from Shelby American, car 57 out of 500. Vilner completely revamped the Shelby’s interior, save for the silver dashboard panel, Shelby number plate, door handles and shift ball, everything is 20th Anniversary new.

The black leather-wrapped buckets were ditched for a new beige with black Alcantara, accented with blood red seat stripes and stitching. The door panels, dashboard and headliner received the same treatment. Alcantara is featured again on the steering wheel and transmission tunnel.
Vilner used an interesting technique for the hard plastics called flocking, and it allows for a suede-like finish, which was applied to the center console, pillars and auxiliary gauges. A smattering of carbon fiber also surrounds the door handles, window switches, infotainment and headlight controls.
In the name of comfort, Vilner added extensive sound deadening materials. The screaming supercharged song still remains, but special panels and pads help keep highway drone to minimum.
The final touch is Vilner’s trademark – a pair of beige leather duffel bags matching the car’s interior. As a cherry on top, there is a special 20th Anniversary stamp carved from aerospace-grade aluminum mounted on the inside of each door.
Vilner says this Super Snake is the ultimate representation of of the experience, craftsmanship and precision the company has developed over the last 20 years– not to mention embodying the spirit of the legend himself, Carroll Shelby.
